Real Life Human Therapists
“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive.”
— Brené Brown
Why do you call yourself a “real life human”?
What you see is what you get. We're not about overselling you with easy therapy or judgmental attitudes. Our sole aim is to meet you exactly where you are. To achieve that, we understand the importance of being approachable.
In every photo and bio, you'll encounter therapists who blend lived experiences with clinical expertise. We're not here to put on a show or make empty promises. We know therapy is tough, and we're committed to being honest about it.
We believe in genuine human connection—creating a space where you feel heard, accepted, and valued. We're here to celebrate your victories, offer a shoulder to cry on, share in your frustrations, and walk alongside you through life's ups and downs.
We understand that genuine progress comes from having someone in your corner who truly understands. We strive to be that person for you.
Everyone is Welcome
At The Therapy Office, diversity and inclusivity lie at the core of our values. We embrace individuals from all walks of life, without exception, welcoming people of every age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, belief system, and background.
Our therapists understand firsthand the experience of being outsiders and the impact of harsh judgments on the healing process. You deserve a therapist who's willing to dive into the trenches with you, who understands the struggles you face, and who's committed to supporting you every step of the way.
Each of us has embarked on our own unique journey, driven by a passion for helping others. We're here to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and where you're accepted and valued just as you are.
Meeting you where you’re at
When we envisioned The Therapy Office, our primary objective was to establish a place where we could wholeheartedly celebrate our clients' progress, irrespective of its magnitude. We firmly believe in the concept of self as the context for healing, recognizing that each individual's journey is unique and deeply personal.
In embracing the philosophy of self-contextualization, we understand how harmful it is to compare yourself to others. Rather than measuring progress against external benchmarks, we prioritize acknowledging and honoring the progress you've made on your own path.
In each counseling session, we aim to show you the progress you’ve made by shining a spotlight on your achievements, no matter how big or small. We want to show you just how proud we are of the strides you've taken, and we're here to support and celebrate every step of your healing journey.
“There is no perfection, only beautiful version of brokenness.”
— Shannon L. Alder
